Pediatric Dental Services
Big Tooth Boca is a full service pediatric dental office.
We service patients from birth to 18 years old. Once you join the Big Tooth Boca family you will receive old-fashioned service with the most modern dental treatment available. By ‘old-fashioned service’ we mean no wait time, easy accessibility via phone, text or email, continuity of care with the same familiar smiling faces at each visit, tailored treatment to your child’s specific needs, and our undivided attention during your appointment.
Preventative Care
According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, it is recommended that children visit the dentist within six months of the eruption of their first tooth or by age one, whichever comes first. This will help establish a dental home and ensure that your child receives routine dental cleanings and exams to maintain a healthy oral cavity and proper oral hygiene.
At each visit, our staff will provide you with information on what to expect at each stage of your child’s development and suggestions on ways to help enhance your child’s oral health. It is important to develop a habit of visiting the dentist every six months from an early age, as this will help establish positive dental habits that will extend into adulthood.

Dental Emergencies
Dental emergencies can be inconvenient and stressful, but it’s important to know that we are here to help. Patients at our office have a direct line to our doctors to assist with any urgent dental issues.
If a dental emergency arises during regular business hours or after hours, please call our office at 561.410.7741. We will do our best to respond as soon as humanly possible. Our foal is to stabilize and avoid stressful emergency room visits with timely and compassionate care.
Dental Sealants
Have you ever noticed food sticking to the chewing surface of your child’s teeth? Sealants coat and seal these grooves with a protective barrier that is easy to apply and provides years of protection against cavities. Ours are BPA-free!

Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a liquid applied directly to small cavities to prevent them from growing and spreading to other teeth. It also works well to reduce sensitivity on hypersensitive teeth. SDF is a pain-free, no-drill/no-injection treatment and is an alternative to traditional fillings in young kids. It is important to note that SDF will blacken and discolor parts of the tooth that are demineralized and decayed.
Imaging
Dr. Levin works with digital sensors as well as phosphor plates. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages and therefore, by having both options, we can select the best option for your child’s needs.
While digital sensors capture more detail, the stiffness of the sensor can be uncomfortable for a young child. When a patient is unable to tolerate these sensors, we have the option of using phosphor plates. Phosphor plates are more flexible, thinner, and easier to tolerate for young children.

Nitrous Oxide
We offer nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” as a safe and effective behavior management tool to make appointments comfortable for our patients. Nitrous oxide is the mildest form of sedation which is delivered via a nosepiece and provides the child with a sense of well-being and relaxation. Nitrous oxide will raise the pain threshold and helps eliminate the gag reflex.
Hospital Dentistry
For children who are unable, by either age or maturity level, to cooperate during dental treatment in the office setting, Dr. Levin has partnered with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital to offer anesthesia services in a child-friendly setting. A board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist plans and provides safe anesthesia for the child based on their weight, medical history, and type of surgery. Through special training and experience, the pediatric anesthesiologists at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital provide safe care for infants and children with even the most difficult health issues. Dr. Levin will provide the dental treatment while the pediatric anesthesiologist closely monitors the patient during the entire procedure.
